RS Feva World Championship 2021

In a time of so much uncertainly, it is with great pleasure that we can announce the 2021 RS Feva World Championships will be in Travemünde, Germany.

Further to our announcement last week regarding the cancellation of the 2020 RS Feva World Championships in Travemünde, we are excited to announce the Travemünde Woche organisation have rearranged the schedule to welcome back RS Feva Class in 2021. The RS Feva World Championships racing dates are to be 100% confirmed but will fall within the regatta dates 23rd July – 1st August.

The International RS Feva Class, Travemünde Woche and RS Sailing are now focused on making the 2021 Worlds the biggest and best RS Feva event we have ever seen. The hope is that the 2021 Worlds is a small ray of sunshine to our sailors in this troubled time.

We have also decided with the NZ Class Association and Manly Sailing Club to postpone the New Zealand World Championships for a minimum of 12 months. The New Zealand Worlds was due to take place in December this year; the provisional dates are now late December 2021/early January 2022. With so much uncertain around international travel and the restrictions that may be enforced, we will be monitoring and reviewing the situation. We hope we will be in a position to finalise the details towards the end of 2020. Thanks go to the team from Manly SC and the NZL Class Association for all their passion, dedication and hard work on this event so far.

In 2022 we plan to be back at the 2012 Olympic Games sailing venue Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy UK. This event is yet to be classified as a Worlds or Europeans but will be part of the RS Games. For those who did not attend in 2018, this was a truly fantastic event with a buzzing atmosphere, excellent sailing and super fun for everyone involved.

All paid entries for 2020 Worlds can be transferred to the 2021 World Championships. If you entered as a club or school or indeed team and one/ both sailors currently registered will not be competing next year, but will be attending as another team we can simply fill helm and crew as a club, school or name and update when you have the information. We hope that rescheduling the Worlds in this way will allow the opportunity for families to transfer accommodation bookings from 2020 from 2021. Please complete this form to transfer your entry to 2021 Worlds

For those that require a refund, we will be applying a €30 levy/admin fee. The levy/admin fees are simply to cover the expenses from the event that are uncoverable or can not be carried over to 2021 and the bank charges that will be incurred to process. The class and the events are run on a non-profit basis and the levy/admin fee will ensure we can continue to organise and delivery fantastic events.

Keep safe and we will see you in 2021!
