We are all busy planning our RS Feva National Championships at HISC due to take place 24-26 October 2020, as you can all understand we have a long and changing list of rules and guidelines to digest and understand. The latest news from the RYA – ‘Return to play’ for boating in England for crews from different households is very encouraging indeed. Still, we need to pick our way through the information and ensure that we operate within the rules and guidelines. For this reason, we are holding off releasing a Notice of Race and subsequent event entry announcement to allow us time and opportunity to understand study the guidelines but also review events happening over the coming weeks. Rest assured we are doing all we can to get an event this year for our sailors and are working tirelessly behind the scenes. If we can make this happen, we will.

There are a few factors to keep in mind

  • If you do plan to book accommodation, then please do ensure that there is a robust cancellation policy in place, with so much uncertainty we do need to remember that the event might not be able to go ahead.
  • It may be suggested that all sailors wear a face covering while sailing the RS Feva. A Buff would probably be better than a facemask (less likely to get hooked up ). Most sailors are used to wearing the Buffs in the winter, so hopefully, this would be an easy guideline to follow if we do need to introduce it.

It is so essential that our sailors, their families, supporters and of course race and host club members, safety teams and event organisers feel comfortable and confident in the environments they are in, we really do not want anyone feeling anxious, so we ask that you stick with us while we navigate our way through to ensure we are doing the right thing by everyone involved

We will contact all our class members as soon as we have a completed Notice of Race to confirm date and time of entry opening, please ensure you are a class member to be sure to receive the communication.
