The first GP of 2024 for the Feva Class. With the weather cancelling our GP3 twice sailors were really eager to go racing. By the end of the weekend they couldn’t wait to see when their next race was.

Wind conditions were too high on Saturday to race. Sailors that wanted to sail got a great opportunity too, they went out in small training sessions throughout the day. The sailors had a blast in a well managed safe environment thanks to our Coaches Simon Greenhalgh and Jacob Knock and our volunteers. Sailors stayed close by to the club and received a video debrief and later attended the social evening.

Sunday morning the sun shone and racing was to go ahead. Thanks to the help from the Race Officer Bill Butcher and his race team we saw six complete sprint races. The day was filled with close racing with sailors battling for their positions and leaving spectators on their toes.

The first race saw Ben Greenhalgh & Tom Sinfield of Port Dinorwic Sailing Club take the first bullet of the day, followed by Will Stratton-Brown & Will Ahlheid of Frensham Pond Sailing Club in second place and Ed Stubbs & Noah Kenny of Lyme regis take third place.

During the second race Ed Stubbs & Noah Kenny won first place, Ben & Tom claiming second place and Zoe Lomas-Clarke and Mark Soars from Frensham Pond Sailing Club in third place.

Race three saw Oli Chambers and Henry Wilkinson of Sevenoaks School win claiming first place. With Rebecca Knock and Megan Gowers of Port Dinorwic Sailing Club in second place and Will Stratton-Brown & Will Ahlheid taking third place.

Race four saw Ben & Tom bounce back with another first place, Rebecca and Megan claiming second place and Ed & Noah staying in the runnings with third place.

Race five saw Will & Will claim first place with Rebecca and Megan on yet another second place! Followed by Ben & Tom in third place.

Race six, was the final race of the day and all was to play for… Ed & Noah won their second bullet of the weekend with brothers Daniel and Adam Larsen of Magdalen College School coming in second place and third place went to Ben & Tom.

The close racing made an exciting event for all! The current World Champions Ben Greenhalgh and Tom Sinfield of Port Dinorwic Sailing Club are the Spring Champions of 2024, Congratulations both! Ed Stubbs and Noah Kenny of Lyme Regis Sailing Club finished in second place, and in third place goes to Will Stratton-Brown & Will Ahlheid of Frensham Pond Sailing Club.
